Just Home Margaret River Inc. has been announced as a 2020 CommBank Staff Foundation Community Grants recipient.
The local organisation has received $10,000 after being nominated by Commonwealth Bank Margaret River branch staff.
Just Home Margaret River Inc. is a social justice organisation that works with community members in the Augusta-Margaret River community to facilitate appropriate, accessible, low cost, secure and sustainable housing options for local people requiring support.
Since 2015, Just Home Margaret River Inc. has supported community members experiencing poverty, homelessness, housing stress and family and domestic violence to navigate financial hardship and engage in financial education to access and maintain secure housing.
The organisation's Housing Advocacy Project supports community members experiencing financial hardship, homelessness and housing stress to have enhanced financial resilience to access secure accommodation or maintain their tenancy.
This includes people who are unemployed or in financial hardship, women and their children experiencing domestic violence who need safe and secure housing, and people experiencing homelessness who require safe accommodation.
Naomi Godden, Chairperson at Just Home Margaret River Inc., thanked the employees for making the group their recipient of choice.
"Homelessness and housing stress have increased in Augusta-Margaret River due to COVID-19, and Just Home is very appreciative of CommBank Staff Foundation's support to help us continue our important work in the community," she said.

The organisation will use their $10,000 grant to provide additional one-to-one support to eligible community members.
Just Home Margaret River Inc. joins more than 170 other recipients across Australia to receive one of 205 grants being awarded by CommBank Staff Foundation.
These organisations have been nominated by a CBA employee to receive a much-needed financial boost of $10,000.
Now in its 102nd year, the CommBank Staff Foundation has a strong history of supporting youth-focused organisations through the Community Grants Program.
The $2 million dollar program is made up of fortnightly contributions by CBA staff, which are matched by the bank.
With many Australians recovering from the devastation caused by the recent bushfires, followed by the economic impact of coronavirus, 2020 marks the first year in the program's history that CBA employees have been able to nominate any eligible organisation or charity in their local community that needs a financial boost.
Recipients of this year's grants are working to address a diverse range of issues across our community - including homelessness, Indigenous disadvantage, domestic violence and cancer support.
Julie Kiker, Branch Manager at Commonwealth Bank Margaret River branch, said, "My team and I are so thrilled that Just Home Margaret River Inc. has received a $10,000 boost to continue the important work they do in our community, especially in these difficult times."
