A border dermatologist expects some residents to see a change in their skin with face masks now mandatory in Victoria.
Albury dermatologist Gordon Rennick Dr Gordon Rennick suggests cotton masks may be the best option for people with sensitive skin, while disposable face coverings should be changed after use.
He added make up, aftershaves and topical solutions under masks could cause irritation.
"It creates a warm, humid environment and therefore alters the micro-environment the skin is exposed to," he said.
"People probably need to experiment with different types of masks, of which there's a lot around.
"There's no one rule for everyone."

With the popularity of home made masks soaring, Dr Rennick suggests these should be washed to prevent irritation.
Many residents prone to skin conditions may also be feeling the affects of the pandemic on their hands, with constant washing and sanitisation the new normal.
"It's not easy because everyone has to wash their hands," Dr Rennick said.
"It's important to use plenty of moisturiser and maybe an alcohol based hand wash rather than soap and detergent based.
"We're trying to kill a virus, but not necessarily strip all of the oils off the skin."
He admitted the pandemic and border closure had seen people put off their routine checks.
"We're starting to see people who have delayed things and now their problems are a bit more urgent," he said.
Dr Rennick added anyone experiencing skin problems should contact their GP.
