The next Living Smart sustainability course will commence next week.
The course gives adults aged 16 and up resources to create their own 'new normal' via hands-on practical activities, presentations, demos, guest speakers and a field trip.
Topics include growing food, reducing bills, using renewable energy, living with less waste, creating compost, and making your own household cleaners.
"Throughout the program, participants will meet inspirational locals sharing their sustainability journeys, and the knowledge ad experience you bring is invaluable too," said facilitator, Laura Bailey of Margaret River Organic Farmer.
Ms Bailey has a background in renewables, energy assessing, permaculture and regenerative farming.
"It's a fantastic opportunity to meet and share ideas, and learn new ways to save your money and our environment at the same time.
"Thanks to Shire subsidies, the only cost for the seven sessions is $100 plus booking fees. That's over 17 hours of positive connections and practical workshop time."
The course runs over 6 weeks from 5:30-8pm Tuesday 18 August - Tuesday 22 September. More info and tickets at livingsmartmargs.eventbrite.com.au
