More incentive for visitors to enjoy what the South West has to offer continues with the state government's latest tourism campaign.
The government launched 'A Million Reasons to Wander Out Yonder', a voucher-based campaign encouraging West Australians to experience tours and attractions across the state.
From September 21, people will have access to 10,000 tourism vouchers worth $100 each to support Western Australia's tour and experience businesses.
People will be able to register online on a first-in, best-dressed basis and if they spend at least $100 on a tour or experience, will receive a $100 discount
Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association has joined the campaign with its '30 Days, 30 Ways'.
Around 150 local tourism businesses will be directly promoted, with visitors directed to margaretriver.com/wander-voucher-margaret-river-region where they are able to spend their voucher.
Association joint chief executive officer Sharna Kearney said the Margaret River Region was a highly aspirational destination with world class experiences.
"There has never been a better time for West Australians to tick off their WA bucket list - whether it be whale watching in the crystal clear waters off Busselton and Dunsborough, appreciating the world's finest Cabernet and Chardonnay, learning about Wadandi people's connection to country, getting off the beaten track and uncovering the region's natural wonders or climbing mainland Australia's tallest lighthouse to see where the two oceans meet in Augusta," she said.
She said the association welcomed the state government's support the region's experience-based members.
"Particularly those in the nature, adventure and luxury categories as traditionally these operators have a relatively heavy reliance on interstate and international visitation," she said.
"Not only is this an exciting opportunity for our region's tour operators, it will hopefully increase propensity among visitors to extend their stay into the quieter mid-week periods, benefiting all businesses in the Margaret River Region."
Campaign activity will go live from 10am on Monday 21 September via www.wandervoucher.com.au and margaretriver.com/wander-voucher-margaret-river-region/.
