After 9 rounds of hockey played at Busselton Hockey Stadium this year, the Margaret River 6-8 boys' team found themselves atop the league table and cemented in the Grand Final after scoring a titanic 49 goals and conceding just seven across the season.

To meet them in the Grand Final was Capel Hockey Club, a team Margies had managed to defeat 6-0 in their last meeting.

The two sides met for the game at 9:00 am Saturday and after the national anthem was sung, they took to the pitch.

The boys were never really pressured during the game, controlling the play with a great display of teamwork, skill and determination across all positions.

Capel were slow to gain momentum and the tension was high but before five minutes was up Margaret River capitalised with two goals from captain Oscar Male, followed by another two from him - one of which came from a penalty stroke - before half time was called.

Being 4-0 up, Margaret River were confident, but their resilient opposition were able to hold them off and created a few goal opportunities, led by Oliver Hesslewood.

Lincoln Rourke was able to break the silence though, with a terrific goal from a penalty corner and Oscar Male was able to follow up with a 5th soon after.

Late into the final minutes, play-maker Shaun Gannaway was able to supply striker Xander McDonald, who finished the game off with a dribble around the Capel goalkeeper.

Team captain, Oscar Male received the Grand Final Shield on behalf of the team, while team mate Lincoln O'Rourke won the Fairest and Best trophy for the match.

Coach Andy Male and Team Manager Heather McDonald were also recognised for their input into the team throughout the season.

Final score 8-0 to Margaret River.

The Margaret River A2 Women went down 2-0 to Wests in a final minute thriller in their Grand Final.

The 9-12 Boy's settled in second place to Wests as well, this time to a bigger margin of 7-0.

The 6-8 Girls' made it to the Grand Final but fell 3-0 to Countrys, after great effort by Margaret River's very own Hannah Bredenkamp, Coco Stent, Jessica Jones and League Best and Fairest winner Olivia Brown.

The A2 Men's team weren't able to make it into the Grand Final and instead played Capel Hockey Club for third place.

Goals from Scott Braddock (2), Choppa Reid (4) and 6-8 player Oscar Male (1) were able to soar them to a 7-1 victory.
