A collaboration between two of the region's beloved community groups and the Shire of Augusta Margaret River will result in the installation of some beautiful new benches on the Main Street of Margaret River.
As part of the Main Street Makeover, the benches - funded by the Lions Club of Margaret River and handcrafted by the Margaret River Men's Shed - will allow pedestrians a moment's pause in key locations in the precinct.
The benches are made using timber sourced from Rosa Glen, adding a unique local touch.
"We are always pleased to be involved in projects such as this one, and the Men's Shed have done such a great job creating these great benches, which will look fantastic on the Main Street," said Lions President Nigel Vangucci.
Residents were quick to applaud the Men's Shed design online, saying it was in line with the town's "quirky" identity. The first of the benches are expected to be installed in line with the makeover completion.
