Police resolve firearm incident in Margaret River

Margaret River marked safe after gunshot incident

UPDATE Monday November 16: Police have marked Margaret River safe as a 52 year-old man is in custody following gunshots at a property in McKeown Place.

Police were able to resolve the incident overnight and no one was injured.

Sunday November 15: Residents near McKeown Place, Margaret River are being warned to take care and stay indoors with an active police incident at a residence in the street currently underway.

Members of the community are advised to avoid the area between McKeown Place, Bovell Avenue, William Place and Georgette Drive, including the park area within that boundary.

Residents in the immediate area are advised to remain inside their homes until further notice.

There is a risk to public safety, with reports of multiple gun shots being fired.

Police are at the scene and are responding to the incident.
