Wet and gloomy conditions greeted the Stage 2 Hawks Green team when they arrived at Bovell Park on Saturday morning.
With puddles on the pitch, it was agreed to start the game an hour later and to reduce it to a 20/20 fixture.
The YOBS White team won the toss and elected to send Hawks in to bat first. Jimi Traianos, Zac Carlson and Harvey McGovern all retired from batting out their allotted deliveries.
Zac Carlson grasped the opportunity to bat on and remained not out 17 at the completion of the game.
His innings formed the backbone of the Hawks Green total of 88, which also saw a few good partnerships with Reuben Bain (14) and Jimi Traianos (9).
Some good length bowling by Hawks Green captain Ethan Ahola saw him take two wickets in the first over. From there on the YOBS batted steadily to take their score closer to the target. However a number of sharp fielding opportunities created three runouts by Dylan Bateman, Reuben Bain and Harvey McGovern.
This, coupled with another wicket from Zac Carlson saw Hawks Green bowl out YOBS White for 84.
