Hawks Captain Isaac Ahola had no hesitation to bat upon winning the toss at the Vasse Playing Fields on Saturday morning.
Runs came at a steady rate through a number of good batting partnerships, that led to four players batting through to retirement being Isaac Ahola (14no), Ethan Ahola (13no), Harvey McGovern (8no) and Dylan Bateman (6no).
The team's running between wickets vastly improved and helped them to 114 for a loss of four wickets after the allotted 26 overs.
Spectators were treated to some very good catching by Hawks Green - including two catches by keeper Bateman and fielder Zac Carlson.
This and a caught and bowled wicket by Isaac held Vasse to 48 for the loss of 6 wickets at the half way mark of their innings.
However the remaining Vasse batters limited Hawks Green to just one additional wicket for the rest of their innings - being a good catch taken by Jimi Traianos.
Vasse were restricted to 96 for the loss of seven wickets. Wickets were shared between Ethan, Rocco Giles, Isaac, McGovern, and Reuben Bain.
