A young Margaret River family is preparing for a drastic makeover next week as part of the Leukaemia Foundation's annual World's Greatest Shave campaign.
Tom and Mouna Prince will each receive a brave new look at the Cowaramup District Club on Friday March 26.
"Very recently we lost my father, partially due to leukaemia," explained Mr Prince.
The family farewelled Dr Lesley Prince in January, with COVID-19 travel restrictions forcing them to find a way to celebrate his life from afar.
"He was an absolute legend of a man, he was very important to a great many people and had an incredible impact on our lives," Mr Prince said.
Mouna Prince said the loss was more difficult given the separation of the Prince family in the UK and their South West chapter.
"We felt like this was a great way to honour what a great man he was," she said.
"It's been a crazy year and sadly Tom hasn't had a chance to say goodbye or even go to his funeral, so we just wanted to take this opportunity to say goodbye to Les and hopefully he'll have a good laugh about it wherever he is."
Mr Prince said local hairdresser and club employee Melody Smith of Hair By Melody would be brandishing the clippers and the scissors on the day.
"MoMo [Mouna] will be chopping off her lovely long locks and donating them to people who make wigs for people with cancer," he said.

"And I will be shaving off my hair, and my beard, which I'm quite sad about!
"I'm also having my legs waxed, and I'm really not sure how much pain I'm in for."
Mr Prince manages the Cowaramup District Club and said the local community had come together to contribute to the event, donating time, resources and prizes.
"We will have live music from the Fagan Brothers, who are absolutely amazing.
"We also have local wine tastings, and a massive raffle which will see the winners cart off a fantastic new wheelbarrow packed with prizes including beer, wines, gin, clothing and heaps more.
"The Noble Grape have donated a two night stay at their place, Cowaramup Autotech are offering a $100 voucher, and there are just loads of other prizes piling in as well.
"Being a Friday, we will also have our weekly meat raffles ready to go, and Margaret River Fresh produce has donated some fantastic fresh boxes to go in there too."
The club is open to members and the general public and the couple urged those who have not been in for a while to head down.
"The more the merrier! We have a great new menu, loads of space for the kids and the family to hang out both indoors and out, and our own Emily Ferrier has done an incredible job transforming the venue with her own beautiful plants.
"If anyone would like to join up on the day, it's just $25 to become a member of the Club."
