A series of creative workshops will be held across the South West to build a collective coffin of memories woven together by participants.
These creative activities will foster and enable conversations along the way about living and dying well, and provide an opportunity to honour and remember those who have died.
The first of these workshops will be held on Saturday, April 10 at the Margaret River Community Centre in the Church Gallery.
Skills of string making and natural fabric dying will be taught with participants adding their memories and stories to the coffin.
All three co-leaders have considerable death literacy and experience with supporting community conversations around death, grief and loss.
Each workshop will build on the artwork created in the previous workshops.
Balingup and Bunbury will also host workshops, creating a community story about death and dying in the South West.
The workshops will culminate in an art installation as part of the Capel Makers Trail on May 21-23.
