Margaret River hockey boys in close call with Capel

The Margaret River Hockey Club's 9-12 Boys team faced off against Capel Hockey Club last Friday night.

In perfect still and cool conditions the Capel side came out hungry to win, the Margaret River team having defeated them the previous week in their 'Covid make up game'.

The Capel and Margaret River players have great camaraderie, especially after some players competed together for the Busselton Association in the recent Bunbury Carnival.

The first quarter was stacked in Capel's favour with several short corners against Margaret River in the first five minutes.

Hiroki Rule (Capel) made a solid attack, which was fortunately deftly cleared by Margaret River full back Henry Gorta.

Several great passes resulted in opportunities in Margaret River's attacking D, but they were unable to score.

In the second and third quarters the players were much more vocal, calling and encouraging each other.

Final score Capel (1) to Margaret River (2).
