The Bureau of Meteorology says people in the Peel and South West regions of WA can expect a bout of winter weather as two cold fronts are forecast to approach the State from Sunday July 27.
At this stage severe weather is not expected, but it will be gusty and showery, and there will be thunderstorms mainly around the west coast on Sunday.
The Bureau said much of the rain is expected along coastal regions from Kalbarri to Walpole and will continue into early next week.
Continuous rain adding up to around 15-30mm and isolated falls up to 50mm are expected in the Lower West district, including Perth, Mandurah and the South West including Bunbury, Busselton and Margaret River.
In the Albany and Denmark area lighter falls around 2-6mm are forecast.
Rain will continue in most of these areas on Monday, with isolated thunderstorms possible.
A second cold front is expected on Tuesday which the Bureau said would bring more rain than the first front, about 15mm, to the coast from Esperance to Busselton.
Perth and surrounds are forecast to get about 20mm of rain on Tuesday.
Rain from both fronts could take Perth to its average June rainfall of 127mm.
Its likely there will be high tides south of Perth and throughout the South West coast from Sunday to Tuesday and damaging surf on Monday and Tuesday along the Leeuwin and Albany coast lines.
