Cowaramup's Red Bulls jumped out of the blocks early in the Derby clash against Gold Bulls at Cowaramup on Saturday.

Red Bulls set up a match-winning lead in the first quarter by getting five or six goals on the board against the wind.

The ladder-leading Red Bulls were led brilliantly by Cavan Payne out of the centre, and Gilbert Fokkema behind the ball.

Anaru Teddy was damaging as always around the ground and in front of goal.

It's not the first time this year the Gold Bulls have been jumped at the start.

The last three quarters were more even, but it was always going to be a huge ask to peg back a big lead against Reds in full flight!

For Gold, Jack Zan worked tirelessly (as always). Mack Weeks had a solid game off half-back.

Coach awards: Red: Jarrod Taylor, Gilbert Fokkema, Cavan Payne. Gold: Mack Weeks, Avion Packer, Mitch Jolliffe.
