The Margaret River Senior High School Open Girls' Volleyball Team travelled to Perth for the 2021 Volleyball WA State Indoor High Schools' Cup last week.
Coach and Volleyball Coordinator Stuart Kupfer-Hollis said the current MRSHS team came together about twelve months ago and have been training regularly, and playing in local adult competitions since.
Mr Kupfer-Hollis said it was a great reward for players Tess Hopkins, Rica Bobis, Sophie Ablett, Sophie Dale, Beck Svensson, Keale Buckland, Ava Robins, Liv Kawiti and Ana Dimalanta, after Country Week was cancelled for a second time in two years due to COVID-19 restrictions.
The MRSHS girls won their way through qualifying games and cross-over quarter and semi-finals to win the Final against Greenwood College.
The team's win came after they competed against teams from schools including Penrhos College, Greenwood College, Mercedes College and John XXXIII College.
