Parents and supporters witnessed a fantastic Under 13's grand final between Hawks Red and Bulls Gold at the Nippers Ground on Saturday.
A very strong contest meant scoring opportunities were limited and valuable in the context of the game.
The Bulls Gold taller forwards were effective in taking contested marks and scoring on numerous occasions.
Hawks Red would then use their running game to counter each score.
Notably, it saw Bulls Gold lead at every change.
However some positional changes made midway through the third quarter saw Hawks Red gain more possession through the midfield which led to repeat entries into the forward line.
Being 8 points down at 3 quarter time, Hawks Red pressed hard and gained momentum that saw them kick 4.1 to Bulls Gold 1.1 in the final quarter.
Final Scores were Hawks Red 8.7 to Bulls Gold 7.3.
Best player for the Grand Final was awarded to Tom Cassidy from Hawks Red for his outstanding performance.
Goal kickers included Sam Joyce (4), Max Utting (2), Tom Cassidy (1) and Hamish Walsh (1).
Congratulations to both teams for showcasing their skills and teamwork.
