A NEW president, a new committee and dedicated coaches will ensure Margaret River Little Athletics Club is ready for a bumper new season.
Fran Newland was elected president at a committee meeting at the beginning of last season when Janet Smith stood down to concentrate on her many other projects.
Ms Smith will remain a major player with Margaret River Little Athletics, with the implementation of the new developmental squad coaching program for 12-17 year olds.
Younger members will gain invaluable training tips and techniques from Chris Johnson, who will be joining the club for the first time this year.
Ms Newland is joined by Laura Bowler, Kim Turnbull, Lisa D'Almeida, and Caitlin Williams, all of whom have children in the club and some who have coached previously.
The committee is made up of parent volunteers, many who have sporting and coaching backgrounds.
Club spokesperson Kim Turnbull said volunteers were vital to the club's survival.
"The success of Margaret River Athletics Club relies on the support of as many parents as possible, who are willing to lend a helping hand, ensuring the club continues to grow.
"Even if you are not sports minded, there are plenty of other jobs to be done, from fundraising, BBQ duties and equipment maintenance. There's something for everyone!"
Local are invited to join in a 'free, fun try day' on October 23 for anybody aged 5-17 years old who interested in signing up.
The Little Athletics season starts on October 31 at Gloucester Park oval.
Online registrations are open now at resultshq.com.au and will close midnight, October 25.
