The Margaret River Hockey Club celebrated another year of success and sportsmanship last week with a windup at the Cowaramup Brewing Co after a series of finals matches with some great results.
President Maxine Williams said the club was looking forward to a season of summer hockey.
"We are all so looking forward to playing on the new training turf in Margaret River. The excitement is really building amongst our players in the club," she said.
Year 6-8 Boys - Grand Final Winners
The undefeated defending champions - Margaret River - met Busselton side, Countrys, in the year 6-8 Grand Final.
They were expecting a hard match, the last meeting between the two sides ended in a 3-2 victory for Margs.
The pressure didn't seem to affect them though, they pushed forward and scored early with a wonderful flick from Lincoln Rourke.
This was shortly backed up by a run from Oscar Male, who managed to work his way into the goal area or "D" and slotted the ball past Country's goalkeeper Seb Avery.
Oscar was also able to blast another crisp shot neatly into the goal just before half-time, leaving them 3-0 up.
A powerful slap-shot goal from Nate Melville widened the margin to 4-0 as Margaret River loaded the pressure on Countrys defenders Ben Anderson and Riley Morrant with amazing midfield performances form Hemi Creagh, William Young and Shaun Gannaway.
Oscar Male made another dangerous run into the D and passed the ball past the goalkeeper to Lincoln Rourke waiting in an empty goal to tap the final goal home with just two minutes left.
After the match Oscar Male was awarded the "Best and Fairest in the Grand Final" and received a second premiership in as many years for his team.
Country's midfield star Aiden Bailey took home the runner-up trophy after his clubs first appearance in the 6-8 boys Grand Final in decades.

Women's Team - Grand Final Winners
After Wests claimed the Premiership over Margaret River in 2020, both teams met again in the 2021 Senior Women's hockey Grand Final, held at the Busselton Hockey Stadium on Saturday 18 September.
Margs only beat West for the first time this year when the two teams met in the Semi Final, so the scene was set for an absolute doozy of a Grand Final.
Both teams played their usual high quality hockey, showing good sportswomanship and finesse on the field.
Margs was first to score early in the match, after Charlotte Powis smashed a direct hit converting her team's penalty corner.
Wests found the equaliser in the third quarter, giving the big supporting crowd a lot to cheer for.
Margs were able to convert a second penalty corner after Rachel Gunderson managed to slip a ball past Wests keeper from the left post.
From here Margs fought hard to hold out many Wests attacking opportunities, including a mad scramble in our defensive D with mere seconds to go on the clock.
With the final siren ringing loud, the triumphant Margs team celebrated an ecstatic 2-1 victory!

Men's Team - Grand Final Runners Up
A great effort by the gents who put up a hard fight to lose the game 2-3. The men's team was ably supported by 'Best Support Team' - Wally Zalewski and Mark Harrison.
MRHC Masters Team - Grand Final Runners Up
An exciting game ended with a 1-1 score, which meant the game went to penalty shoot outs.
There were some great goal saves by goalkeeper Pete Wright, but unfortunately the Masters side fell to the Jets (4-6).
