Riders and supporters of the Cowaramup BMX Club are gearing up for the start of the summer racing season, which kicks off this Friday October 29.
The season runs through to the April school holidays, with a short break over the Christmas period.
Club secretary Tracey Gregory said the club welcomed riders of all ages, from children as young as two years old, to competing adult riders.
"There has been a lot of behind the scenes preparation at the club in the lead up to the season, with a new starter gate, weeding, mowing, a busy bee and track repairs taking place," she said.
"Joining up is easy, riders need to sign up with Auscycling Australia, then come along to our race meets and nominate to race.
"Racing is held every Friday night from 6.45pm, with nominations closing at 6.20pm sharp."
Cowaramup BMX Club recently competed in the annual WA State Titles which were held in Bunbury, with over 750 riders competing from across WA.
Cowaramup had three riders taking part - Ned Gregory, and Lughan and Liam Bevan.
The Bevan brothers rode their hearts out in their second State Titles event, but it was Gregory (16) who brought home the plate for Cowaramup.
Gregory ranked 5th in WA with his riding on the day in a very tight competition in the Junior Elite division.
"There is lots to look forward to with an upcoming south-west competition between the Cowaramup, Bunbury and Collie Clubs in January," said Tracey Gregory.
"The idea for the South West Bash was cooked up between the three Clubs and was such a success in January, it is now going to be an annual event."
