Margaret River photographer Daniela Tommasi will soon launch a new aerial photography exhibition which captures the scale and beauty of the Earth, and the marks left by the human race.
"Humankind has been shaping our planet for the past few thousands of years.
"In doing so, it has unwittingly created large-scale works of art.
"Viewed from the air, those shapes, colours and flowing palettes, carved on the surface of the Earth, transform themselves into canvases of unexpected beauty."
For the past couple of years, Tommasi has been pursuing this "incidental art", focusing on the patterns and colours that emerge when humans interact with the planet.
A professional photographer for more than ten of the 20 years she has lived in the area, she said she spends most days with a camera or drone in hand.
"I am very grateful to be living in such a beautiful part of the world where there is always something amazing to photograph.
"My drone photography has opened up another world as I regularly head down to local isolated beaches and other beautiful locations in Western Australia to capture nature and wildlife.
"This exhibition is the culmination of many trips taking photographs with drones, helicopters, hot air balloons and light planes."
As well as her impressive aerial imagery, Tommasi's camera has captured riders of the Cape to Cape MTB and the Tour of Margaret River as well as the the TransCape Swim Run, CinefestOz and many other events in the South West region.
'Incidental Art' is being exhibited as part of the 2021 Head On Photo Festival, Australia's largest photography event.
The exhibition will open to the public on Friday November 19 from 6pm. Bar facilities will be available and all are welcome to attend.
