Margaret River's Dune Distilling Co. is kicking off summer celebrations with the launch of their latest Pink Grapefruit Gin and a Gold Medal at the 2021 WA Tourism Awards.
Landing the top honour in the Tourism Wineries, Breweries and Distilleries category, the Wilyabrup distillery shares the Caves Road location, and the award, with Black Brewing Co.
Together they have proven a popular destination for tourists and locals, with the brewery, distillery and restaurant under one roof.
Following on from their previous two sold out limited edition gins, a new soft pink coloured gin with a citrusy flavour is next in line for summer release.
"Our aim has always been to source as many local South West native botanicals to produce a flavour that reflects a sense of place," explained distiller Shannon Grigg.
"This new Pink Grapefruit does just that, and we are really excited to see it launch in time for the Christmas festivities and celebrate the venue's Gold Medal at the Tourism Awards," he said.
Dune Distilling began experimenting with native and farmed botanicals in 2015, and now boast five craft gins in the portfolio.
The latest Pink Grapefruit Gin features local pink grapefruit, paired with coriander seed and juniper.
As with previous releases, the label once again features artwork created by a Western Australian artist.
Nicola Herbert's Botanicals by the Sea adorns the Pink Grapefruit Gin bottles.
A bartender by night, Herbert paints in her spare time, combining ink and watercolour in the majority of her artwork.
Best enjoyed as a classic G&T with Indian Tonic, garnished with a wedge of fleshy pink grapefruit and a sprig of rosemary for the perfect summer cocktail.
Dune's Pink Grapefruit Gin is available now from dunedistillingco.com.au or from the Tasting Room at 3517 Caves Road, Wilyabrup.
