Housing advocacy group Just Home Margaret River is calling for people in the region to complete their latest survey, aimed at capturing the true depth of the housing crisis affecting the South West.
Just Home Chair Dr Naomi Godden urged people to take part in the survey, and to spread the word among friends and colleagues.
"Just Home is concerned about the shortage of rental properties, and high rental prices in our community," Dr Godden said.
"We hope that this survey will give our community and relevant government authorities evidence about the range of housing issues we are experiencing in Augusta Margaret River.
"This information can help inform actions we can take as a community to address the housing crisis."
In February this year, Just Home released a report entitled 'I wouldn't wish this on anyone': The Augusta-Margaret River Housing Crisis'.
The report highlighted the increased severity of the housing crisis in the Augusta Margaret River community, and the impact of the end of the rental moratorium at the end of March.
"Just Home is now wanting to revisit the housing crisis situation, particularly to examine the effects of the end of eviction moratoriums on residents in Augusta Margaret River.
"It is hoped that this information can be used for advocacy work by Just Home, and to attempt to tackle the current lack of affordable housing in the region."
Just Home's newly appointed Community Development Facilitator, Geraldine Clarke will lead the development of initiatives to improve social and affordable housing options in the Augusta Margaret River Shire.
She will also conduct life skills sessions for individuals at risk of or experiencing homelessness to enhance their capacity, skills and resilience to manage challenges in their lives.
"Individuals who are sleeping rough or experiencing homelessness or housing stress are invited to come to the Soup Kitchen most Fridays at 10.00 am for a yarn to others in the same situation.
Sessions will also include guest speakers on a variety of topics to help participants navigate challenging issues.

People who are experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity are invited to participate in the short survey, which should take around 15 minutes to complete.
The open-ended questions allow for as much or as little detail as respondents wish to give, and all information is treated in a confidential manner.
Just Home will collate survey responses to help inform housing action and advocacy within the community.
