Well known and respected South West artist Dawn Brittain has unveiled her latest grand exhibition, featured at the Margaret River Art Studio on Main Street.
Gallery owner Jennifer Gherardi said Brittain was highly regarded within the South West art community.
"She is like a towering karri tree. Tall, distinct and a straight talker with deep roots" said Gherardi.
"Like the Karri bark, she is ever-changing, yet still, the same fine tree."
A lecturer at TAFE for eight years, Brittain has guided many of the region's artists.
"Dawn was my first ever painting teacher," said artist Dea Haddow.
"I can still hear her advice whispered in my ear whenever I am painting.
"I learn something new every time I view the confident, bold brush strokes and emotive colour harmonies that are signature characteristics of Dawn's work."
The exhibition features many significant works, offering a strong visual journey throughout.
The artist's recognisable bold style with landscapes and abstracts has broad appeal and speaks to her deep connection with trees, forests and the South West coast.
"These works are 'moments in time'; taken from a long and magnificent journey, whilst searching for the essence of the inspiration I find through my life and the natural environment," said Brittain of the collection.
At just a year old, Margaret River Art Studio has become a popular destination for lovers of original art and jewellery created by local artists.
The space overlooks the upgraded main street and hosts local artists working in residence most days.
The exhibition runs until February 13, 2022. For more information visit www.facebook.com/Margaret-River-Art-Studio-100220988516358/
