KINDERGARTEN students at the Margaret River Primary School will move into their new kindy on the first day of term 2.
Construction of the kindy, capable of educating 80 young minds, was recently completed, and on Wednesday school principal Sinan Kerimofski is holding a sundowner at the old kindergarten site.
Between 5-6pm former students, teachers, parents and anyone else with a relationship to the kindergarten are welcome to attend the event to look back on the near-50-year history of the site.
Mr Kerimofski said the kindergarten had seen several generations of students pass through, and its closure at the end of the current term would be bittersweet.
Education assistant Lorrie Noakes said the closure brought mixed emotions, as the school looked to a new chapter in early childhood education.
"We've had many brilliant teachers and brilliant students come and go," Ms Noakes said.
Mr Kerimofski said the new site would cater to 80 kindergarten students in two groups two-and-a-half days a week.
Parents interested in enrolling their children can attend an information session on Thursday afternoon.
