AN alarming number of drivers have been caught speeding on Margaret River roads these school holidays.
Margaret River Police Sergeant Brett Cassidy reminded drivers to slow down and take care on the roads especially in wet weather.
"On Railway Terrace on Thursday, 78 per cent of people were [travelling at] over 60 kilometres," he said.
Sgt Cassidy pointed out that a childcare centre is located on this particular road.
"People really need to exercise caution," he said.
Police will continue operating an increased number of speeding cameras for the remainder of the holidays.
"If anyone sees any hoon drivers, we'd love to hear from them," Sgt Cassidy said.
He said the station occasionally received reports of hoon driving. Witnesses need to be prepared to attend court if required.
