Cape to Cape MTB riders took a cruise down the main street of Margaret River’s central business district on Sunday morning.
The fourth and final stage of the race began in front of a huge crowd of cheering spectators and supporters, celebrating the tenth year of the increasingly popular mountain biking event.
Awaiting riders was a re-vamped alignment of the Stage 1 course for their final leg – after a heavy overnight downpour, the tracks were in premium condition.
After tackling a few short, steep fire road climbs in South Carters, competitors blasted Fence Run on their way to the Burnside Loop where they slipped and slid their way through the flowy and twisty single trails.
A coffee fix through Double Espresso and Long Mac had riders pinging as they entered the newly refurbished Compartment 10 trails.
Pumping and flowing through Big Pine gave riders an insight in to their next two descents where they would get their whip on over the masterfully crafted jumps within all of Compartment 10.
It was all smiles at the finish line as the emotions hit the riders when they finished what was an epic day and an epic week at the 10th Anniversary of the Cape to Cape MTB.
