The Yallingup Boardriders were greeted with fun 3 to 4 foot waves at Three Bears on Sunday for their final club contest for 2017.
A record number of competitors in the women's division made for a busy day of heats and finals. The biggest move of the day went to Ollie Henry who launched a critical air reverse just before the buzzer in the U18 Final to win the division over Josh Cattlin.
Emma Cattlin took on the boys again and placed third in the division and Max Leaver rounded out the top four.
In the much anticipated Open Men's division, it was anyone's guess who would win but in the end of the day it was Sam Tucker's electric rail surfing that clinched the win ahead of Jack Thomas in second, Zak Ogram placed third and Felix Leaver coming in fourth respectively.
“The club is a great springboard for all the rising talent in the local area to help compete and improve their skills, preparing them for state rounds and eventually the WQS for the more mature members,” club president Garth Mullimby said.
In the women’s division it was contest machine Emma Cattlin claiming the win over April McPherson, JC third and Eve Foley fourth.
The Over 35s men’s saw Wazza Boyes powering his way to victory over Timm Uros while Matt Robinson was third. In the Over 45s it was Mick Drmota claiming the win with Toddy Taylor in second, Geoff North third and Matt Wilson rounding out the final four.
