WHILE they are not identical, it will soon be even easier to tell twins Lani and Kyra Payne apart – Lani will have her hair shaved off by her sister.
Margaret River Senior High School year 9 student Lani, along with deputy principal Hetty Bogerd, will go bald as eggs for the World’s Greatest Shave fundraiser for the Leukaemia Foundation.
Kyra plans to shave her twin’s hair on Friday, March 16 at the school, at the same time as Hetty.
Lani is braving the shave to help people with cancer, while Hetty hopes she can raise funds for stem cell research.
“That will provide a variety of potential cures for serious diseases,” she said.
Year 9 Tabitha Dowding is helping with the shave, raising funds, and providing moral support.
The World’s Greatest Shave on March 15-17 raises funds to provide free practical and emotional support to people with blood cancer and their families, as well as investing millions in research.
Since 1998, more than one million people have shaved or coloured their hair, raising more than $120 million.
If you wish to be a sponsor for Lani or Hetty, there is a donation box at the school library, or you can visit www.worldsgreatestshave.com.
