ARTS Margaret River is giving locals the chance to gain more confidence when performing in front of people.
The organisation is running a series of Improvisation Workshops which will teach participants a wide range of skills.
The workshops will be held on Saturdays between 9-11am at the Margaret River Cultural Centre.
The first workshop is set for September 6 and will be followed by further workshops on September 20, October 4 and October 25.
Workshop facilitator Margot Edwards said those who took part would learn how to engage an audience when performing, focus on themselves rather than the audience, how to let go without over thinking a performance, how to prepare and more.
"Learning improvisation is like a combination of stretching your playful performance muscles combined with the philosophy of tai chi and a bushwalk through life," Edwards said.
"It's a safe place to explore how your body can help you overcome the fears in your mind, fantastic fun for anyone who's inner voice wants to be heard but doesn't want to speak to a crowd."
Edwards said the workshops would be a lot of fun and were about performers learning to go with their gut feelings rather than worrying and thinking about it too much.
Workshop prices are $25 a session or $90 for the series, or $80 for arts hub members and students.
Edwards said people could decide whether they wanted to take part in one or all of the workshops, with each covering different topics.
The workshops would be suited to people wanting to take part in group confidence building activities, a performer wanting to explore a bit deeper or for those who were interested in the idea of offer and acceptance, benevolence and transformation.
