South West Singer-Songwriter Tracey Barnett is set to entertain a Mother's Day crowd at Settlers Tavern this weekend, celebrating her recent nomination for WA Blues/Roots Song of the Year.
Fresh from Fairbridge Festival where she packed all three of her shows, Barnett reflected on 10 years of hard work in the industry.
“I thought 2017 was a big year for me with the release of my new album and dual nominations in the WAM Awards, but this year feels like my music career is finally ramping up, I'm so grateful and pretty excited to see what's next,” she said.
When she's not on the road touring, Barnett calls the small country town of Bridgetown home, an influence heard throughout her songwriting.
A love of the environment, a sense of community and an authentic down to earth presence. Though many describe her style as 'Blues and Roots', she is by no means boxed into the genre and loves to experiment with different influences, which makes for a truly refreshing journey for the listener. Skillful guitar, thumping stomp-box, looping, soaring vocals a little harmonica create a unique, uplifting and dynamic live show.
