A group of local Artzability group participants will perform their ‘Shark and Swamp Monster Meet Their Match’ play next Monday, June 25 at the Augusta Margaret River Zone Room at the Youth Precinct.
The group hosts regular workshops for adults with disabilities, carers, families, artists and volunteers in the Margaret River region covering theatre, music, dance and a range of visual arts.
Devised by the group alongside community artist Margot Edwards over a series of Monday sessions, the crazy, fun play is set in the Boranup Forest and borrows magical realism elements from iconic stories such as Peter Pan, Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe and Winnie the Pooh.
Order from chaos and back again; come on a magical journey with four friends who work with the forest spirits, as the forces of good and evil do battle for the future; negotiating with a dancing Shark, a singing beached whale and deep within the forest, a terrible Swamp Monster.
All are welcome to attend, entry is free.
