Do you know someone with great taste in music who deserves to share it with the world?
Or perhaps there is a local person or community group who could do with some time in the spotlight at this year’s Margaret River Agricultural Show?
Thanks to Ryan Cope, better known around town as The Wedding DJ, a select few locals will have the chance to select their favourite songs as guest DJ in a 30 minute set at the Ag Show on October 12 and 13.
“During their DJ set, we will also have a chat, a bit of an interview, where people can use the time to talk about their community group, or program,” explained Mr Cope.
“There are plenty of awesome people and amazing dedicated volunteers who spend a lot of time working towards important causes in this part of the world, and we thought it was a great way to combine some good tunes and a bit of background on some of those important people.”
Mr Cope said nominations were open to anyone, and encouraged people to think about who they would like to see onstage spinning some tunes.
“This isn’t just about the community groups and volunteers, although we are very keen to hear from them too.
“You could nominate a local school teacher, your hubby or even one of the Shire councillors, it would be great to see a mix of people up there selecting some funky tracks.”
Yahava’s Jade O’Shea is the first local to be nominated and said he was looking forward to getting into the spirit of the Show.
“What’s not to love about the Ag Show? The Tumbler, carnie music, donuts and lots of locals,” said O’Shea.
When asked what sort of tunes he had lined up for visitors to the Show this year, he said the music of his youth would get an airing.
“Growing up in the 90's and early 2000's, who hasn't had a desire to recreate it?!”
