Residents and motorists in the Rapids Landing area south of Margaret River are being urged to take care after a gas leak scare on Thursday morning.
A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson said that an excavator had appeared to come into contact with gas facilities in the vicinity of Tonkin Boulevard and Alferink Crescent in the development.
The gas was isolated at 10.25am, with three crews from the Margaret River Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service and Kleenheat gas service personnel on site.
The spokesperson said there was no direct risk to residents but that people should take care while crews are working at the area.
