With Lunar New Year this week the abalone world has shifted into overdrive, and Augusta’s Ocean Grown Abalone (OGA) has been busy filling orders for Australia and overseas buyers.
The group’s abalone products have hit Asian supermarkets in time for this week’s celebrations, where the delicacy is one of the hottest items for eating – and gift giving.
The South West business has two new distributors for their Two Oceans Abalone branded and packaged product in Hong Kong’s Park n Shop and Singapore’s Fairprice supermarkets.

The group has also received approval to expand the Flinders Bay lease to 15,000 abitats, up from 10,000 making the ranch a 300 tonnes a year potential.
OGA are now exporting live abalone now on a regular basis to the East Coast of Australia, with 7 per cent of their annual harvest shipped to Australian markets.
The remaining 93 per cent of products is shipped to Asian markets.
