In blustery, difficult conditions, the South West Tennis League held their grand finals for the last time at the Busselton Tennis Club.

A great crowd from participating clubs within the league witnessed competitive matches and good sportsmanship throughout the day.

In a highly anticipated grass court match, the division A1 between the Busselton Emeralds and Margaret River, the Emeralds triumphed 7 sets and 53 games, to 3 sets and 37 games.

The winning team was led by Louise Braddock with team mates Deanne Smith, Varley Tweddle and Lisa Wake who all played consistent tennis.

The Australind Backhanders and the Bunbury Dolphins competed in the A2 division, and provided the closest contest of the day.

So close was the tussle that one game decided the final result. Australind ran out winners with 6 sets and 55 games to Bunbury's 6 sets and 54 games.

Australind team members were Sherrily Wilson, Debbie Owens, Elizabeth Newman and Debbie Bindon.

Team Dunsborough played for the first time in the South West League and went head-to-head with the Australind Aces in the A3 division on synthetic courts.
