The Margaret River Decorator Centre has been operating for more than 26 years, but recently Lance and Enid Gelden became the new owners.
The business provides home decoration and renovation supplies within four divisions - flooring, tiling, paint and plumbing.
Flooring and carpet:
The business can supply and install domestic and commercial carpets, vinyl, hybrid planks, laminates and timber flooring.
The showroom has a range of samples on display, and the team of staff offer site visits to discuss the most appropriate flooring, take measurements and provide obligation-free quotes.
Tiles and tiling accessories:
Tiling specialists Julie and Stephanie can walk customers through the wide selection of tiles and assist with colour selections, coordinating tiles, benchtops, flooring selections and paint colours.
"We have a designated area, with coffee on hand, to meet with customers to coordinate samples," Julie said.
"We have a selection of preferred suppliers, but we encourage customers to see us if they would like to price match tiles seen elsewhere."
Paint:
The paint division is a trade outlet for Wattyl, Solver and Haymes Paint, and the business has a range of retail products to suit all budgets.
Mark, the paint specialist, is legendary for his knowledge of paint and timber products, and his ability to help with colour selections and tinting.
"We stock specialised products such as Cutek for timber care and Norglass for liquid glass and epoxy applications," Mark said.
Plumbing:
The plumbing range includes vanities, basins, tapware, mirrors, toilets and showers.
"Our showroom is so large, that it's often mistaken to be four different stores," Lance said.

"We are currently re-arranging our showroom and are selling items such as toilets at bargain prices."
Each section has designated staff who have been with the business for a long time.
Lance and Enid pride themselves on providing a welcoming atmosphere in their store so that customers feel comfortable to browse at their leisure.
"All the staff at the Margaret River Decorator Centre genuinely enjoy their work and dealing with people," Lance said
"This is evident with the friendly way we assist customers and provide service beyond what is required."
"So many people try to cut costs by going with the cheapest quote they get, and then run into problems with products failing or an inferior finish because of poor workmanship."
"We are able to provide a better service and still remain competitive."
The business only shops locally and promotes the use of local tradespeople and builders.
The team are also doing their best to reduce the amount of waste they produce by donating carpet and flooring remnants to schools and organisations.
"We would like to encourage all locals to drive around the LIA and commercial areas of Margaret River, and to go into stores."
"So often, locals comment that they weren't aware of the Margaret River Decorator Centre, or people complain about having to travel to Busselton or Bunbury, but haven't bothered having a look locally."
"There is a misconception that buying locally is more expensive, but most people would be pleasantly surprised at what a selection we carry in store - and the pricing."
