New Zealand music legends Salmonella Dub have a new album on the horizon and will be showcasing the first bundle of new tunes with three dates in Western Australia this month.
Long considered pioneers of their unique Pacific style of dub/drum 'n' bass/reggae/hip hop and groove-based rock, the group paved the way and influenced other great kiwi acts including Fat Freddy's Drop, Shapeshifter and Katchafire.
For 26 years Salmonella Dub have commanded concert halls and stadiums across the world, while paving a uniquely distinctive and thrilling musical path, blending dub, rock, jazz/dub horns, drum 'n' bass, electronica and reggae.
Heading to WA, the Salmonella Dub Soundsystem is the Dub's 'little Mashup Bro'. Creating havoc with the band's new dubplates on dance floors at after parties, clubs and festivals for the last 20 years, Andrew aka the 'Rudeboy' dub originator and Soundsystem selector, will journey throughout the basslands of the Dub's 12hr catalogue, including Sal Dub anthems remixed by their mates Dub Fx, Adrian Sherwood, Dreadzone, Groove Corporation, Dj Digital, Tiki Taane, Zion Train, The Mad Professor, Concord Dawn, Dj Mu (Fat Freddy's Drop).
Alongside the new album bundle, expect a sonic horn assault from the epic dub horn section.
The Salmonella Dub Soundsystem hits The River on Saturday July 13. For tickets and show info head to theriver.oztix.com.au
