Spring is well and truly here and so are the King George whiting and big sand whiting.
These fish have been found in good numbers and size out in flinders bay and the lower Blackwood.
Big numbers of herring and some salmon trout have also been encountered in the lower Blackwood River system.
Black Bream are also very active in the lower and upper regions of the Blackwood and Margaret river systems.
Out wide between the Capes we are hearing reports of fishermen catching solid Southern Blue Fin Tuna and in a little closer Yellow Tail Kingfish are also on the bite chasing an unweighted mulie or stick bait.
Tailor and Mulloway will be showing up along the coast in good numbers this time of year if you're keen to throw a line in on sunset or after dark.
As the warmer weather graces us with sunshine and the possibility of maybe some smaller swell and lighter winds so too does the possibility to dive.
Constant swell and wind makes for challenging diving along our little piece of the coast. The days that have let us get out and slip into the water have also allowed us to catch a feed of crays and Abalone.
With the Demersal fish closure current until mid-December those of us who still want to target fish are finding good yellow tail kings and some fat king George whiting.
