Small businesses in Western Australia stand to benefit from a one-off $17,500 grant as the state government continues to push for economic recovery in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
Businesses with a payroll between $1 million and $4 million will receive the one-off grant.
It is expected to benefit 7400 businesses in total, with the grant sent automatically to qualifying businesses.
The grant is part of the WA government's $2.3 billion COVID-19 stimulus and relief package for households and businesses.
Other support provided for small to medium businesses includes rent being waived for six months for eligible tenants housed in government-owned buildings, a one-off $2500 electricity credit and waiving of licence fees.
Finance minister Ben Wyatt said the grants would help businesses "bounce back" from the impacts of the pandemic.
"The McGowan government is committed to supporting WA businesses to weather the impacts of COVID-19," he said.
"We are very aware of the impact that the pandemic has had on local businesses and jobs, and we thank every business for playing their role in helping stop the spread of the virus in WA.
"Western Australia's strong response to COVID-19 has enabled us to open up businesses, get people back to work and restart our economy much faster than other parts of the country.
"These one-off $17,500 grants can be used by businesses to help them bounce back from the impacts of COVID-19.
"These grants form part of the McGowan Government's more than $2.3 billion COVID-19 stimulus and relief package and will benefit thousands of Western Australian businesses."
