A Secret Harbour man has had an electronic monitoring device attached to his ankle by police after allegedly breaching his COVID-19 quarantine on four occasions.
The 35-year-old arrived in WA on a flight from Queensland on Tuesday, September 8 and was directed to self-quarantine at a Redcliffe hotel for 14 days.
WA Police allege the man twice invited a woman into the hotel room, and that he left the hotel to attend a party with a small group of people.
The man was interviewed by police on September 14 and has been charged with four counts of failure to comply with a direction and was transferred to another hotel quarantine in Perth CBD.
He will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on Wednesday, September 23.
Considering of the circumstances of the breaches and the man's history, the state emergency coordinator deemed he was to be fit with a monitoring device.
The device was attached to the man's ankle on September 15 and will now remain on his person until the end of his quarantine.
He is the second person in WA to be fitted with an electronic monitoring bracelet.
