It has been a huge fortnight of golf in Margaret River, with the crowning of the 2020 Men's Club Champion along with the Ladies 4'somes Championships.
Brian Seed is the 2020 Men's Club Champion with a 4/3 win over Brent Burton.
Brian was elated with his win and thanked his opponents over the championship weekend.
He was also very proud to win the Paddy Barrett Trophy and continue the good form to win the Championship.
Club Captain, John Bell, said during the presentation that "there are 3 important factors in a great tournament; great weather, a great course and the game played in great spirit."
John went on to say "Brian played beautifully over the weekend and has continued his run of good form for some time now - the spirit he showed has made him a very worthy winner."
The club championship is held over two weekends with the first weekend staged as qualifying for the final. At stake is the Paddy Barrett Trophy awarded to the best nett score over the two rounds which this year went to Brian Seed with a 71 on each day.
The top 8 players (gross scores), regardless of handicap division, play the quarter finals of the Championship Division
Also decided was the Ladies 4 some's with Laurie Barker and Maggi Foy winning on 88 points on a countback from Jackie Dickson and Ros Cummings.
Laurie has been in great touch of late and was extremely grateful to her playing partner, the field and the course.
A highlight of the day was Lorna Johnson's hole in one on the 8th which led to a ringing of the bell and much merriment in the bar.
The club has a number of significant events on the calendar, including this Fridays Retravision sponsored Ladies Open Day. Which is played over 18 holes as a Canadian Foursomes Stableford competition.
Other results for the week were Tuesdays Veterans 9-hole Stableford competition was won by Gary Evershed with 22pts, in second Place was Alan Dale on 20 points and in third was Abe Huskien on 19c/b pts.
Thursdays men's scroungers 18 hole "Brown Paper Bag Day" Stableford event saw Gerard McCabe in first place with 41 points, secnd place went to Mark Tugwood on 40 pts and third place went to Phil Potter on 38 pts.
Final results for the Men's Club Championships were A Division Jeff Crouch 3/2 over Graeme Bedggood. B Division Dave Glasson 3/2 over Mike Kelly and in C Division Terry Halsall 1 up over Roy Warren.
