Art lovers visiting the South West this July School holiday will have the pleasure of sharing the creative journeys of the artists at The Studio Gallery in Yallingup.
The new exhibition, titled 'Journey' will display how selected artists have changed their style and techniques over a period of time.
Gallery director Sandy Tippett said they titled the exhibition 'Journey' to share how our artists began creating art and how they create now.
There will be 11 Western Australian artists and two interstate artists exhibiting two artworks each, one then and one now.
WA artist Janey Emery said when she first began painting her favourite thing to do was to go out for country drives in search of her next composition with a camera in hand.
"I would paint anything and everything from ducks to old rusty trucks and loved every second of my artistic endeavours," she said.
Another WA artist Jeanette Dyson said for many years she aimed for realistic interpretations of the natural world.
"Then a life changing transfer to the Kimberley transformed my interpretation of the landscape," she said.
Exhibiting artists include: Eliza Piro, Herman Pekel, Janey Emery, Jeanette Dyson, Jennifer Sadler, Janey Emery, Joanne Duffy, Kay Gibson, Marjan Bakhtiarikish, Norm Wilson, Paula Wiegmink, Rob Forlani, Ron Baker & Simon Hemsley
The exhibition officially opens at 10am - 12 noon, on Saturday July 3 and will run until to July 18 at the Studio Gallery on Marrinup Drive, off Caves Road in Yallingup.
Members of the public are invited to the official opening and meet the artists attending. For more information about the exhibition please visit the Studio Gallery website thestudiogallery.com.au
