South Regional TAFE Margaret River music students are set to light up the stage at the River Hotel on Friday 3 September, demonstrating their music skills and playing some of their original songs.
The TAFE student showcase is a celebration of the students' achievements and will bring together a variety of student acts to perform hip hop, rock, pop, cellist, ukulele and electronica.
Lecturer Chris Archibald is thrilled that the students are working on their second annual TAFE Music Showcase and wants to celebrate the fortunate situation in the South West of WA.
"We are truly blessed that we are still able to watch live music events and our students are excited to be part of this," Mr Archibald said.
"We have a wide variety of artists performing more original works for the first time. The talent and variation of style will be something special," he said.
Last year the music showcase attracted more than 200 people to the River Hotel.
"I want to see the South West region come together again to see what a positive and unique impact these talented performers have on the world," Mr Archibald said.
The event is a TAFE collaboration with the commercial cookery, hospitality and digital media students all contributing to the event.
South Regional TAFE Regional Campus Manager Judith Reynolds said the event is a credit to the talented students and the support they receive from their lecturers.
"Our lecturers and students work together to make this event possible, with many people volunteering their time." Mrs Reynolds said.
"We really appreciate the community support we receive to create this celebration. On the night, it's fantastic to see everyone enjoying the event and the students' success."
The musical acts will include Shadowbontay, Squatting Dog, Bianca Blakk, Expandation, Charlotte Walton, Di Gee, Liliya, Bev & Steve, Dondre, Shae and IHC.
Tickets will be sold at the door for $5 each.
Doors open at 6pm, Friday September 3.
