Two men in their early 20s were rescued off the coast near Margaret River on Tuesday afternoon when the jetski they were riding broke down.
"Two young males were on [the jetski] when it stopped and commenced taking in water," said Margaret River Police Sergeant Simone Taplin.
The men were rescued near Margaret River Mainbreak by Volunteer Marine Rescue and due to the time spent in the water, were taken to hospital by St John Ambulance officers for assessment.
"Both were wearing lifejackets, they had an EPIRB and flares," said Sgt Taplin.
Despite having being submerged in water, the pair's mobile phones were still working, and were used to call 000 to alert authorities.
