The opening event of the 2024 Busselton Fringe Festival has been announced, with the March festival promising a wide selection of entertainment for a variety of tastes.
"From mesmerising dance performances and side-splitting comedy to jaw-dropping circus acts and beyond, the festival boasts a lineup featuring cherished local talents and exciting new faces," explained Operations Coordinator, Danielle Paull.
"In collaboration with local partners Shelter Brewing, Rocky Ridge, and the Old Courthouse Complex, we're elevating the festival experience by hosting special events in Busselton's best locations."
Ms Paull said the lineup - which will be revealed in full over the coming weeks - represented the festival's 'something for everyone' approach.
"Our Fringe program goes beyond mere entertainment; it represents a commitment to supporting accessible and inclusive events.
"Everyone involved - artists, venues and audiences - comes together to invest in a creative platform, crafting a unique and organic occasion that transcends the ordinary."
The opening event will bring a dazzling display of flamenco music and dancing at the Old Courthouse courtyard in Busselton, thanks to award-winning AIRE Flamenco and guitarist and vocalist Jeremias Sosa.

"Join us for a taste of Spain, an evening of fiery flamenco under the stars. Dancers Valeria Gonzalez and Maree Laffan will dance a selection of works that will transect flamenco styles and regions in Spain.
"Hailing from Buenos Aires, [Jeremias] approach is founded upon the melodic songwriting of The Beatles and the guitar playing finesse of Carlos Santana, with punk, jazz and Latin feels within the living-breathing mix."
The talented musician's album won the 'World' category at the WA Music Awards in 2017.
The Busselton Fringe Festival opening event will be held from 7pm (for a 7.30pm start) on Sunday March 3. For tickets and more information, including the full program to be released soon, visit busseltonfringe.com.au
