The annual Geographe Bay Race Week will celebrate an important birthday in February, with the 21st year of the must-attend regatta for keel boat owners who travel from all over the country to attend.
Race Director Scott Olney said this year had seen participation increase from 43 boats in 2023 to an "amazing" 75 boats in 2024.
"We anticipate over 400 sailors and families to visit the Busselton region from February 3 to February 9 for an action-packed week of racing and activities," he said.
"2023 was a huge success where we saw favourable conditions and a good time had by all!"
The event is hosted by Geographe Bay Yacht Club, with boats staying at Port Geographe Marina.
"There will be the usual variety of division racing, plus the Mini Regatta is looking to grow from last year's involvement of The Viper fleet to include Flying 15s, who will be competing for three days sailing windward/leeward courses close to the marina."
Mr Olney said of note was the newly created Super 30 fleet, which will see the latest arrival of Cape 31s battling it out against boats of similar size like MC31, Melges 32, Farr 30.
"Premier Cruising and Jib and Main divisions are showing big numbers as well," he said.
He said the Race Week was a highlight on the WA sailing calendar, offering the chance for friends to catch up and sail the beautiful waters of Geographe Bay.
"We'd like to thank the continued support of the City of Busselton, and welcome back Club Marine whom without the event may not be possible.
"We welcome all classes to get in touch to see how you can get involved in Race Week 2024."
