SEVENTY members and guests celebrated the centenary of the Murrumburrah School of Arts Building, now the museum, on Sunday, August 16, sharing a very nice lunch provided by members and guests around the old Railway Refreshment Room Bar.  After lunch, Robyn Atherton’s book, Rupert Dufty Heggaton - Five Decades in Murrumburrah, was launched with grand daughter Judy Ross and her brother John Heggaton and families in attendance and unveiling the original plaque that was laid by Dr Heggaton in 1912. John also brought along Heggaton’s silver trowel from 1912. Ex-students from the historic Tiverton School assembled on the verandah of the schoolroom now situated at the back of History Hall for a photo shoot, with Mary Brown reciting a poem she had written about the Tiverton School and cutting the ribbon to officially open the schoolroom display. Despite the weather being a little cool, the day was enjoyed by everyone in attendance.
