New bench seats arrived in the Margaret River PS garden this month, custom-made by the Margaret River Men’s Shed. The new seating arrangement completes the learning space, now able to accommodate classes of up to 30 students. The undercover area provides much needed shelter from inclement weather, and a dedicated space in which to explore garden concepts and discuss daily tasks assigned in each lesson.
“The Men’s Shed provided an exceptional service, measuring the space and custom designing and building our benches at a very friendly price,” said Geoff McLeod, Kitchen Garden Coordinator.
“The resulting product is of a high standard and meets our individual needs perfectly – we couldn’t be happier with their work. This is another example of our community providing much needed assistance for our program,” he said.
The Men’s Shed is located at the Old Settlement behind the Hairy Marron Cafe, and operates Mon, Wed and Fri from 9am to 12noon. If you have a project you’d like to discuss, contact Terry Hutchings on 0428 909 198, or pop in and say hello.
