The Cocoon Gallery will host emerging artist Carol Seeley in her exhibition "An exploration of colour and texture."
With seven unique pieces described by the artist as 'abstract expressionist', the works are on show from 5 August to 30 September.
Carol invites people to experience and "feel the emotions" captured in her work, displayed here with vibrant colours and textures.
"The first splash of colour informs the next ... intuitive and responsive," says Carol.
To craft spontaneous and reactive pieces, Carol marks her canvasses, dripping, spreading, splashing and staining her paintings with the assistance of brushes, palette knifes and found objects.
Layers upon layers are dispersed with the use of dripped alcohol creating a striking effect.
Carol's love affair with texture began many years ago at a local community sharing centre where she enjoyed pottery classes.
From there she started an arts course at her local TAFE where pottery and print making were the focus of her interest.
Painting for Carol is meditative, emotional and fulfilling and reflects the emotional and physical world around her.
The exhibition is open to the public during Margaret River Library opening hours.
