The most iconic Australian summer sport in the nation is here and the mighty Margaret River Hawks Cricket Club wants you!
Boasting A, B and C grade sides in both the one day and T20 formats in the Busselton Margaret River Cricket Association (BRMCA) and hosting arguably the longest running T20 competition in Australia, (currently in its 14th season this year!), the Hawks are constantly looking for players.
The Hawks have had a long pre-season, with two scratch matches against Edgewater Cricket Club and also against Glen Forrest Cricket Club, interspersed by fantastic training numbers and a solid training plan implemented.
The season starts this weekend, with the Hawks travelling to Busselton to take on YOBS in both A and B grade.
The Hawks are looking to make a solid start to their 2019/20 season.
A disappointing end to last year's campaign saw the A grade side miss out on the grand final in the last over of the match, against YOBS.
This means the club is determined to start this season off in the best possible way.
The Hawks have been boosted with the inclusion of members from the Augusta Cricket Club who, due to lack of regular playing numbers, have had to pull their team out of the BMRCA this season.
It is hoped that with the assistance of the Hawks developing their home-grown players, the Augusta Cricket Club will see a resurgence in numbers and again be a force on their own within the BMRCA in the coming years.
Braden and Tyson Warnke, and Blake Gillam will all be looking to push into and play regular A grade cricket this year, and have been solid contributors this season on the training track.
We welcome all of the Augusta lads into the Hawks, and look forward to a prosperous union!
Rumesh Silva, the loveable Sri Lankan "Panda" is also back for his third season in Margaret River, and is expected to score heavily this summer.
Two more imports will be unveiled this weekend in the baggy yellow, and the club is excited to what they will bring.

The Hawks leadership group has also been named, with Mat Kent, (A Grade), Al Wilkie, (B), and Tristan Mugford, (C grade), taking the reigns for their prospective teams.
There is also a shout out for any females that are interested in forming a side this year, with one, maybe two games scheduled this season.

Grant Garstone has been elevated to the A grade vice captain role, with Shane Joyce part of the top side's leadership group.
Wilkie will be supported by Jude Shinnick, Danny Weston and Michael Earl; while Joel Lawrence will be supporting Mugford in the C grade.
This 10 person leadership group is an exciting move by the Hawks and is rounded out and headed, by the Chairman of Selectors, James Gannaway.
There is also a shout out for any females that are interested in forming a side this year, with one, maybe two games scheduled this season.
Although cricket will be the name of the game, it will be more about socialising, champagne and entertainment than the score.
Some training leading up to the first game will be formalised and is a great opportunity to all women who are interested in playing, but haven't done so yet.
